What this book is about

Every isolation item on the NCLEX-RN is one question wearing different clothes. Something is moving from a source to a host, and you are asked which piece of engineering stops it. The organism is only a clue. The route is the answer.

This book teaches interruption. It does not teach infectious disease. You will not find the incubation period of measles here, or the treatment of tuberculosis, or the antibiotic that clears a resistant wound. You will find the six links of the chain and the specific action that severs each one, the four barrier sets and the exact conditions that call for them, the two sequences for putting protective equipment on and taking it off, and the physical safety content that shares the same test category: restraints, falls, fire, radiation, hazardous materials, and disaster triage.

The book is built so that a candidate who has never memorized a disease list can still assign a precaution correctly. Route first, barrier second, detail third. That order holds on every page.

How to read it

Pages 3 through 6 build the model. Pages 7 through 9 drill it against real presentations. Pages 10 and 11 place it inside a chart and a scenario. Pages 12 through 14 test it. Page 15 compresses the whole book onto one card you can rebuild from memory.
