The six-week plan

Figure brief · not yet drawn

a six by seven grid, weeks down the left and Monday through Sunday across, each weekday cell holding four blank labeled lines and the weekend columns lightly tinted.

How this grid works. Six rows, one per week. Seven columns, Monday through Sunday. Every cell holds four things and no more. You fill the cells in yourself, in pen, before the week starts. A plan written on Sunday for the week ahead is a plan; a plan written each morning is a wish.

THE CELL CONTRACT

Each weekday cell holds, in this fixed order:

LEARN — one book and a page range of roughly seven pages. Name both. DRILL — a number of practice items. Name the number, not "some." RECALL — yesterday's topic, retrieved from memory before you open anything. Say it out loud or write it on a blank page. This line is not reading. TICK — the box you check when the other three are done.

Weekday load is capped at ninety minutes. If a cell needs more than ninety minutes, the page range was too big, not the day too short.

Saturday cells hold a MIXED SET of thirty to fifty items drawn across everything from that week, with rationales read for all of them, including the ones you got right.

Sunday cells hold REVIEW MISSES and nothing else. They are deliberately empty of new material. Sunday is where the week consolidates, and filling it in with reading is the most common way this plan fails.

THE SIX WEEKS

Week 1 · Judgment and priority. Books 2 and 3, plus a re-read of Book 1 pages 9 to 20. Every later domain is answered through this frame, so it goes first even if it is not where you feel weakest. Flagged books to insert this week: ______________

Week 2 · Safety and pharmacology. Books 4 and 5. Book 6 math goes in the DRILL line every single day, without exception, because calculation decays faster than anything else in this library. Flagged books to insert this week: ______________

Week 3 · Values and the chest. Books 7 and 8. Flagged books to insert this week: ______________

Week 4 · Airway and the systems. Books 9 and 10. Flagged books to insert this week: ______________

Week 5 · Abdomen, life stages, mind. Books 11 through 14. Flagged books to insert this week: ______________

Week 6 · Fundamentals and consolidation. Book 15, then re-run Book 1's three cases and all thirty items cold, and re-score them in the repeat column on page 76. Flagged books to insert this week: ______________

By the end of week 5, this sequence has covered all eight Client Needs subcategories in roughly test-plan proportion. Week 6 exists to measure whether it worked.

THE FLAG OVERRIDE. Any book you flagged on page 76 gets a second pass, inserted into the Sunday cell of the week after its scheduled week. The spine does not move. The flags ride on top of it.

Margin note: "ninety minutes you actually do beats four hours you plan."

Takeaway. Frames first, then values, then systems, then life stages, and never a day without retrieval practice.
